1/2 cup (150g) tandoori paste
1 cup (280g) yoghurt
2 clove garlic, crushed
2 centimetre piece fresh ginger (10g), chopped coarsely
1 1/2 kilogram whole chicken
1 cup (250ml) green ginger wine
A crispy and delicious Indian-style tandoori chicken dish; perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Serve with coriander, cucumber and mint salad and mint raita.
1 Combine paste, yoghurt, garlic and ginger in large bowl. Add chicken. Using hands, rub tandoori mixture all over chicken. Cover, refrigerate overnight.
2 Preheat oven to 180°C.
3 Tuck chicken wings under body. Tie legs together with kitchen string. Place chicken on oiled rack over baking dish. Pour wine into baking dish, bake about 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is cooked through. Serve with steamed rice, if you like.
